Which taxation policy for the UE?

The European Member States just agreed upon the reduced tax rates of VAT to be applied within the EU: any restoration work done on buildings will be taxed at 5.5% until 2010, and Poland could apply this same rate to the majority of its newly built constructions, thanks to a broad definition of “social housing.” Some elements of a European tax regime are now present through a partial European harmonization of the national tax regimes.
