Integration and Community in North America

From January 25 to February 1, 2006, Cécile Chavel, psychoanalyst, Franck Debié, Chief Executive Officer of the Fondation, and Jérôme Monod, Honorary President, went over to the States to study the American integration model. This publication is the result of a week’s intensive exchanges with diverse interlocutors dealing with the main issues American society is confronted with: immigration, integration, communities, incapacity for individuals to enter into dialogue, violence, churches getting predominantly right-wing… America does not easily indulge in self-criticism, but at the very root, at the local level, quite a few innovative projects and solutions are experimented, which might prove to be very useful in France.
